Requirements for Admission as an International Undergraduate Student International undergraduate students must: Keep a valid passport Notify the International Programs Office of any changes of address Obtain permission for off-campus employment Maintain HSU international student health and accident insurance Live on campus if under 21 and unmarried
The following documentation is required: A completed, signed and dated application for admission of international students. A $30 non-refundable application fee paid in U.S. dollars in the form of a bank draft, money order, or personal check. Official TOEFL score of at least 500 paper based, 173 computer based, or 61 Internet based. The Henderson State University code number is 6272. A score of 5 on IELTS is also acceptable. A completed financial statement form verifying that you can financially support yourself while a student in the United States. The cost of attending HSU is approximately $14,300.00 all inclusive US dollars for the 2008/2009 year. This is only an estimate of costs that has been calculated based upon a student who takes a 13 hour course load per semester and resides in a double occupancy university dorm. This estimate also reflects a waiver of the out-of-state tuition fee, which is only available to international students who live in university accommodations. Undergraduate students who do not live in the university accommodations should expect to pay approximately $21,250 all inclusive. Exact tuition and fees will be calculated and are due at the time of registration and must be paid in U.S. dollars. All applicants must be financially independent, as there is no financial aid guaranteed to international students attending Henderson. Official scores from the SAT or ACT exam must be submitted to Henderson State University. Official scores for the SAT exam must be sent to Henderson directly from the College Board.. Official scores for the ACT exam must be sent to Henderson directly from the American College Testing Service. Copies of results submitted by students will not be acceptable. A certified transcript in English--listing courses, examinations, grades, and marks, including proof of graduation. When the above requirements are satisfactorily completed, you will receive letter of admission and an I-20 form. In order to obtain your travel visa to enter the United States you must present this document to the American Consulate or Embassy in your country. Medical insurance is mandatory and may be purchased through Henderson. The cost is approximately $78 per month and it is payable along with tuition. The insurance fee is due in the fall and spring semester. Upon arrival at Henderson you must have enough money with you to pay for tuition, fees, insurance, books, and housing in the approximate amount of $6,900.00. Students will also need spending money to buy personal items such as: bedding, soaps, towels, etc . . , so that living arrangements can be secured in one of the residence halls if such services are needed. Students should consult the Planning and Arrival Information page for dates on which they must arrive at Henderson. Travel from the Little Rock, Arkansas airport for new students can be arranged by the International Programs Office only on dates specified in the Planning and Arrival Information. Students who arrive on these dates must submit an Airport Greeting Request to the International Office. Students arriving before these specified dates must make their own transportation arrangements to Henderson and they must find temporary accommodations. Students arriving after these specified dates will not be greeted at the airport and may not be admitted to Henderson. All new international students must attend New International Student Orientation All international students entering Henderson must attend a mandatory international student orientation at the beginning of the semester.
