More career options and better opportunities are just two of the reasons I chose Henderson State University as the college at which to pursue my degree. Because of the increasingly competitive job market, I understand that I will need every possible advantage available to me. Henderson is preparing me to think more critically, guiding me to delve deeper to obtain solutions, and helping me to acquire the skills necessary for a successful career. |

Time away from my studies is spent in the pool as a member of the Redwave Swim Team. As a student athlete and president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), I am learning that leadership is not just a matter of taking control and acting on something, but it is also planning a strategy to get everyone involved with a common goal in mind. Leadership demands exuberance, enthusiasm, determination, creativity, and self-direction, while maintaining the nerve to do the job with intense effort and focus. Henderson is preparing me to challenge the process, inspire a shared vision, enable others to act, model the way, and ENCOURAGE THE HEART. |
