Providing for the safety and security of members of the university community and of university property is the responsibility of the Henderson State University Police Department. Officers are trained and certified under the guidelines of the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training established by Act #452 of 1975. The University Police Department, working closely with state and local law enforcement agencies, operates as the law enforcement agency for the university community.

Members of the university community will find the University Police officers valuable resource persons for information on laws, policies, and procedures which are applicable to the campus. Visitors to the university can depend on them for information and directions. To take advantage of their services, flag down a passing patrol car or, during regular office hours, call the University Police Department at 870-2305098. To contact an officer after hours or on weekends, call the Arkadelphia Police Department, 870-246-4545, and they will radio the University Police officer on duty.
