Federal Pell Grants are need-based grants for undergraduate students. The award amount is determined by the student’s EFC, the cost of attendance, the student’s enrollment status, and whether the student attends the full academic year.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are need-based grants for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. Federal Pell Grant recipients receive priority for FSEOG funds. The award amount varies and is dependent on the student's need and availability of funds.

Federal Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) are need-based grants for full-time undergraduate students. To be eligible a student must (1) receive a Federal Pell Grant; (2) be a U.S. citizen; (3) be a first- or second-year student in a two-year or four-year degree program; (4) have completed a rigorous high school program of study; and (5) have graduated high school after January 1, 2005.
Federal National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grants (SMART Grants) are need-based grants for full-time undergraduate students. To be eligible a student must (1) receive a Federal Pell Grant; (2) be a U.S. citizen; and (3) be a third- or fourth-year student pursuing a major in physical, life, or computer sciences, mathematics, technology, engineering or a critical foreign language.
